Critical Injury Shooting, 2900 block of Bowser Avenue

Date: 3/24/2015

Time: 5:37 PM

Location: 2900 Bowser Ave.

Victim: Male

On March 24th, 2015 at approximately 5:37 pm Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of Bowser Avenue. Muplitple people called police hearing numerious gunshots in the area. A male was located on the porch suffering from an apparent gunshot(s) wound. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Upon the ambulance’s departure, many people who were initally at the scene of the incident took off to accompany the ambulance to the hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicates the a possible gold newer impala may have been involved in the shooting and was seen leaving the area immediately following the shots fired. Detectives were tracking down witnesses, many of whom left before police arrival. Local schools were temporarily locked down because of the time of the shooting, but were soon lifted once the scene was neutralized.

It is unknown at this time whether there is a connection between this shooting and the previous shooting on Oliver street this past Sunday March 22. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutors Office, and the Coroners Office.
